Alex Winter is a British-American actor and filmmaker. He was born on July 17, 1965, in London, England. Winter gained recognition for his role as the slacker Bill S. Preston Esq. in the 'Bill & Ted' film series, including 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure' (1989) and its sequels. He is also known for his portrayal of Marko in the 1987 vampire film 'The Lost Boys'. In addition to acting, Winter has co-written, co-directed, and starred in the 1993 film 'Freaked'. He has also directed documentaries in the 2010s. Winter comes from a diverse background, with his mother being a New York-born dancer and his father being an Australian with English ancestry. He received dance training as a child and has an older brother named Stephen.
