Ali Soufan

Ali H. Soufan is a Lebanese-American former FBI agent known for his involvement in several high-profile anti-terrorism cases. Born in 1971, Soufan played a crucial role in counterterrorism efforts both in the United States and internationally. He gained recognition for his work in preventing the September 11 attacks and publicly criticized the CIA for not sharing intelligence that could have prevented the tragedy. Soufan resigned from the FBI in 2005 and went on to publish two influential books: 'The Black Banners: The Inside Story of 9/11 and the War Against al-Qaeda' in 2011 and 'Anatomy of Terror: From the Death of Bin Laden to the Rise of the Islamic State' in 2017. Currently, he serves as the CEO of The Soufan Group and is the founder of The Soufan Center, a nonprofit organization focused on research, analysis, and strategic dialogue related to global security.
