    Alison Pick Biography
    Alison Pick is a Canadian writer known for her novels, poetry collections, and memoir. She was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1975 and grew up in Kitchener. Pick received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Guelph in 1999 and an MA in philosophy from Memorial University in Newfoundland. She discovered her father's Czech family's Jewish roots during her teenage years and later converted to Judaism. Pick's novel Far to Go was nominated for the 2011 Man Booker Prize and won the Canadian Jewish Book Award. It has been optioned for film by House of Films, with a screenplay by Hannah Moscovitch and Rosa Laborde.
