Alison Quigan Biography
Alison Marie Quigan (born 1952) is a New Zealand actress, director, and playwright. She received her training at the Theatre Corporate Actors School in Auckland in 1978. Quigan has worked as an actor in Auckland, Palmerston North, and Christchurch, appearing in or directing over 130 plays. She has also written 12 plays, either as the sole playwright or in collaboration with Ross Gumbley and Lucy Schmidt. From 1986 to 2004, Quigan served as the artistic director of Centrepoint Theatre in Palmerston North, directing more than 60 plays. She then appeared on the New Zealand television series Shortland Street from 2004 to 2011. Since 2013, she has been the performing arts manager at Māngere Arts Centre – Ngā Tohu O Uenuku. Quigan is also the mother of actor Sarah Graham.
