Alyssa Naeher

Alyssa Michele Naeher, born on April 20, 1988, is an American professional soccer player known for her role as a goalkeeper. She currently plays for the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women's Soccer League and represents the United States Women's National Team. Naeher has had an impressive career, having been part of the 23-player roster for the United States at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup and serving as the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France. Prior to her time with the Red Stars, Naeher played for the Boston Breakers and Turbine Potsdam. She received recognition for her skills, winning the 2014 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year award while playing for the Breakers. Naeher's talent extends beyond soccer, as she was also a standout basketball player during her time at Christian Heritage School, scoring over 2,000 points in her career. She attended Penn State from 2006 to 2009, where she started 74 games and achieved a record of 50–19–5 with 24 shutouts.
