Amanda Freitag

Amanda Freitag (born May 11, 1972) is an American celebrity chef and cookbook author. She is known for her frequent appearances on Food Network television programs and her work as a judge on television cooking competitions. Freitag was raised in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, and attended Cedar Grove High School. She graduated from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in 1989. After graduating, Freitag worked at Vong New York under chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. She then moved to Verbena, where she focused on using local, organic ingredients. Freitag has also traveled to France and Italy to expand her culinary knowledge.
