Anand Giridharadas is an American journalist, political pundit, and author. He is known for his work as a former columnist for The New York Times and has written four books, including 'India Calling: An Intimate Portrait of a Nation's Remaking' (2011) and 'Winners Take All: The Elite Charade of Changing the World' (2018). Giridharadas was raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Maryland, and Paris, France. His visits to India during his childhood sparked an interest in the country that influenced his writing. He attended Sidwell Friends School and studied politics and history at the University of Michigan. He also pursued a doctoral degree at Harvard University. Giridharadas began his career at McKinsey & Company in Mumbai as a consultant.
