Andre Ward is an American former professional boxer who competed from 2004 to 2017. He held multiple world championships in two weight classes and retired with an undefeated record. Ward was ranked as the world's best active boxer, pound for pound, during his reign as light heavyweight champion. As an amateur, he won the light heavyweight gold medal at the 2004 Olympics. Ward rose to prominence in 2009 when he won the World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight title as part of the Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament. Throughout his career, Ward was recognized as one of the greatest boxers of all time, ranking twelfth on BoxRec's pound-for-pound list.
