Andrew Baker
Sir Andrew William Baker (born 21 December 1965) is a judge of the High Court of England and Wales. He is currently Judge in Charge of the Admiralty Court. Educated at Lenzie Academy, he studied mathematics at Merton College, Oxford, and earned a postgraduate diploma in law at City, University of London. Called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1988, he was appointed a judge of the High Court of Justice (King's Bench Division) in 2016. In April 2021, he dismissed a billion-dollar lawsuit against British financier Sanjay Shah and others. In May 2022, he received an honorary degree in political science from St. Olaf College for his ruling against The Danish Tax Agency.
