Andrew Hsu

Andrew T. Hsu (born 1956) is an American educator and the twenty-third president of the College of Charleston. He began his presidency on May 17, 2019. Hsu is the first person of color to serve as president in the college's 253-year history. Born in Beijing, China, in 1956, he attended Tsinghua University before earning master's and doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Hsu has worked for Sverdrup Technology and Rolls-Royce and held positions at the University of Miami, IUPUI, San Jose State University, and the University of Toledo. In 2019, he assumed the presidency at the College of Charleston.
