    Andrew Lo Biography
    Andrew Wen-Chuan Lo (born 1960) is a prominent figure in the field of finance and financial economics. He currently holds the Charles E. and Susan T. Harris Professor of Finance position at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he has been teaching since 1998. In addition to his teaching role, Lo is the director of MIT's Laboratory for Financial Engineering and a principal investigator at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He is also an affiliated faculty member of the MIT Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Prior to his tenure at MIT, Lo taught at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Lo is recognized for his extensive research in finance, authoring numerous academic articles and serving as a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. He founded AlphaSimplex Group in 1999 and previously served as chairman and chief investment strategist for the company.
