Andrew Nicholls, born on July 14, 1957, is an English-born Canadian writer and performer. He is best known for his collaboration with Darrell Vickers, forming a successful writing team. Together, they served as the head writers of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson from 1988 to 1992. Nicholls and Vickers met in junior high in 1969, where they started working together on music and comedy projects. After moving to Los Angeles in 1983, they continued their careers and became members of various professional organizations such as WGA, WGC, SACD, SOCAN, ACCT, and ATAS. Throughout their career, Nicholls and Vickers have written for stage, radio, TV, syndicated cartoonists, and stand-up comedians.
