Andrew Norman
Andrew Norman (born October 31, 1979) is an American composer of contemporary classical music. His texturally complex music is influenced by architecture and the visual arts. Notable for his work, Norman gained international attention with his orchestral composition Play (2013), which was nominated for a Grammy Award and won the Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition. He also received a Grammy nomination for his orchestral work Sustain (2018). Norman's other notable works include the string trio The Companion Guide to Rome (2010), the piano and orchestra fantasy Split (2015), and the opera A Trip to the Moon (2017). He is currently a member of the composition faculty at the Juilliard School since 2020.
