Andy Fitzgerald

Andy Fitzgerald (3 December 1885 - 24 November 1969) was an Irish hurler who played as a goalkeeper. He achieved success at club level with Blackrock, winning three County Championship titles in four years. Fitzgerald was selected for the Cork senior hurling team and made his first appearance in the 1909 Munster final. He also played in the 1912 All-Ireland final, where Cork was defeated by Kilkenny. Fitzgerald's last game for Cork was in the 1914 All-Ireland semi-final. Born in Ballintemple, Ireland, he was the fifth of eight surviving children of Edward and Anne Fitzgerald (née Donoghue).
