Ann James Biography
Ann Catherine Stewart James, born on 6 October 1952 in Melbourne, Victoria, is an Australian illustrator and author known for her work in children's literature. With over 60 children's books to her name, James has made a significant impact on the development and appreciation of children's literature in Australia. Her career in illustrating books began in the 1980s. In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded the Pixie O'Harris Award in 2000 and the national Dromkeen Medal in 2002. Ann James currently resides in Melbourne, where she co-founded the Books Illustrated gallery and studio with Ann Haddon in 1988.
