    Anne Gunn (née Young; 11 April 1756 – c. 1813) was a Scottish music teacher and the inventor of Musical Games, a set of board games designed to teach music theory to children. Born in Haddington, East Lothian, Anne was the youngest of 11 children. Her father, David Young, was a music teacher and her brother, Walter Young, was a skilled musician and song collector. Anne's musical abilities were developed through her father and brother's teachings. She became a music teacher in Edinburgh and specialized in providing instruction for young ladies. In 1801, Anne was granted the first British patent for a board game, making her the only female inventor to receive such a patent at the time.
