Anthony R. Jones is a retired United States Army lieutenant general who served as acting commander of the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command. Born on July 10, 1948, in Washington, Indiana, Jones graduated from Indiana University in June 1970 as a Reserve Officer Training Corps Distinguished Military Graduate. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant of Infantry and later became qualified in the Aviation branch. Throughout his military career, Jones held various leadership positions, including Commander of the Combat Aviation Brigade, 24th Infantry Division, and Deputy Director for Operations at the National Military Command Center. He also participated in overseas operations, including Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Joint Guardian.
