Armando Acevedo
Armando Acevedo Milan (born 4 July 1937) is a Mexican chess player. From the mid-1960s to the early 1970s, Acevedo Milan was one of the leading chess players in Mexico and a former Mexico City Chess Championship winner. He represented Mexico in international competitions, including the 4th CACAC Team Chess Championship in 1966 where he won a team silver medal. Acevedo Milan also played for Mexico in the Chess Olympiad in 1966 and 1970, earning positive results on both occasions. He holds the distinction of being the first Mexican FIDE master and has made significant contributions to the chess community as the founder of a popular chess website in Mexico and as the former president of the Mexican Chess Federation (FENAMAC).
