Armando Manuel Aurelio Ortega Carrillo, also known as Maestro Armando Ortega, was a Mexican musician and the Director of Coro de la Escuela Secundaria y de Bachilleres de Orizaba (ESBO). Born into a prestigious family, Ortega had a rich cultural and educational background. His maternal great-grandfather, Don Manuel Carrillo Tablas, was a philanthropist and former mayor of Orizaba, Veracruz. His maternal grandfather, Manuel Carrillo Iturriaga, served in the Mexican Legislature in the early 20th century. Ortega's paternal grandfather, Don Aurelio Ortega y Placeres, was a highly regarded educator in Veracruz. His father, Don Aurelio Ortega Castañeda, was a renowned poet and educator who bestowed the title of 'Nuestra Señora de los Puentes' on the city of Orizaba. Armando Ortega made significant contributions to the field of music throughout his career.
