Sir Barry Alan Crompton Gibb (born 1 September 1946) is a British musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He gained worldwide fame as a member of the Bee Gees, alongside his younger brothers Robin and Maurice Gibb. The Bee Gees were immensely influential and commercially successful, making them one of the most important groups in the history of popular music. Known for his wide vocal range and high-pitched falsetto, Gibb has written or co-written sixteen Billboard Hot 100 number ones and shares the record for most consecutive number ones with John Lennon and Paul McCartney. With a career spanning over 60 years, Gibb has received numerous accolades including induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
