Barton Gellman
Barton David Gellman (born 1960) is an American author and journalist. He gained recognition for his reports on the September 11 attacks, Dick Cheney's vice presidency, and the global surveillance disclosure. Gellman became known for his coverage of the U.S. National Security Agency in 2013, based on documents provided by Edward Snowden. He authored a book on the rise of the surveillance-industrial state in May 2020. Gellman currently serves as a senior fellow at the Century Foundation and holds a position as Visiting Lecturer and Author in Residence at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He was also a fellow at the Center for Information Technology Policy at Princeton from 2015 to 2017. Gellman was born to Stuart Gellman and Marcia Jacobs in 1960 and is of Jewish heritage.
