Beck Weathers
Seaborn Beck Weathers, born on December 16, 1946, is an American pathologist from Texas. He gained public attention for surviving the harrowing 1996 Mount Everest disaster, which has been extensively documented in Jon Krakauer's book Into Thin Air (1997) and its film adaptation Into Thin Air: Death on Everest (1997). Weathers' story has also been portrayed in the films Everest (1998) and Everest (2015). In his autobiographical book, Left for Dead: My Journey Home from Everest (2000), he recounts his ordeal and the challenges he faced in rebuilding his life and relationships following the tragedy. Prior to his Everest expedition, Weathers had a successful career in pathology and had a passion for mountaineering, aiming to climb the Seven Summits.
