Ben Rose
Ben Rose (1916 – 1980) was an American photographer. He started his career as a photographer at a young age and graduated from the Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art in 1938. From 1945–1950, Rose taught Photography and Advertising Photography at the same institution. He gained recognition for his use of high technology and electronics in photography, as acknowledged by designer Louis Dorfman. Rose was also part of the 'Philadelphia Group', along with Irving Penn, where they studied under Alexey Brodovitch in the 1930s. His work has been featured in various books, including 'Picture Cookbook' by The Editors of LIFE, and magazines such as 'PORTFOLIO. A MAGAZINE FOR THE GRAPHIC ARTS'.
