Ben Starr
Benjamin Starr (October 18, 1921 – January 19, 2014) was an American television producer, writer, and playwright. Born in Manhattan, New York, Starr grew up in Brooklyn and served in World War II as a second lieutenant navigator. After the military, he began his career writing comedy for radio stars like Al Jolson, Jerry Lewis, and George Burns. Starr went on to become a successful television writer, contributing to popular shows such as Climax!, The Facts of Life, Mister Ed, and All in the Family. He also co-created the sitcom Silver Spoons and wrote for comedies like Chico and the Man, Maude, The Andy Griffith Show, Petticoat Junction, and The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. Starr's notable works include writing The Brady Bunch episode 'The Subject Was Noses.'
