Beryl Bernay
Beryl Bernay (March 2, 1926 – March 29, 2020) was an American journalist, children's television creator, and artist. Born as Beryl Bernstein in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Russian-Jewish immigrants. Bernay took acting classes and made her Broadway debut in 1955 in the play 'Tonight in Samarkand' and later appeared in Thornton Wilder's 'The Skin of Our Teeth' in ANTA's Paris production. Throughout her career, she appeared on stage, television, and radio from the late 1950s through the 2000s. Her notable TV appearance was in 1983 as the librarian in an episode of 'Law and Order' (Season 3, Episode 13). Bernay was also an accomplished painter and photographer.
