Betty Jackson

Betty Jackson, born on June 24, 1949, is an English fashion designer known for her work in the British fashion industry. She was born in Bacup, Lancashire, and her father owned a shoe factory. Despite facing physical challenges due to a leg amputation at the age of six and subsequent complications from a car accident, Jackson pursued her passion for fashion. She studied fashion at the Birmingham College of Art under Zandra Rhodes and began her career as a fashion illustrator. Jackson gained recognition for her designs and received numerous accolades, including an MBE and later a CBE for her contributions to the fashion industry. Additionally, she is renowned for designing costumes for the popular TV comedy 'Absolutely Fabulous.'
