Bill Hurst
Bill Hurst, born William Hansel Hurst on April 28, 1970, is a former Major League Baseball player. He attended Palmetto High School in Miami and later played for Central Florida Community College. In 1989, Hurst was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 20th round of the amateur entry draft. However, he was released by the Cardinals on December 10, 1992. On March 12, 1995, he signed as a free agent with the Florida Marlins. Hurst made his major league debut on September 18, 1996, pitching in two games for the Marlins that season. He recorded one strikeout, a walk, and did not allow a run to score. Hurst is also known for appearing in the fifth edition of Jewish Major Leaguers baseball cards.
