    Bill Idelson Biography
    Bill Idelson (August 21, 1919 – December 31, 2007) was an American actor, writer, director, and producer. He gained recognition for his role as Rush Gook on the radio comedy Vic and Sade during his teenage years. In the 1960s, he became known for his recurring television role as Herman Glimscher on The Dick Van Dyke Show. Idelson was born in Forest Park, Illinois, to Russian immigrant parents. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a night fighter pilot and received the Distinguished Flying Cross and four Air Medals. Idelson was married to actress Seemah Wilder and had four children. He passed away in 2007 from complications related to a hip injury.
