Bill McKinney Biography
Bill McKinney (1931-2011) was an American character actor known for his roles in various films. Born on September 12, 1931, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, McKinney had a diverse upbringing, moving 12 times as a child. He joined the Navy during the Korean War and served for two years. After being discharged in 1954, McKinney pursued his passion for acting and settled in California. He attended the Pasadena Playhouse, where he studied alongside Dustin Hoffman and Mako Iwamatsu. McKinney's notable roles include playing the sadistic mountain man in the film Deliverance (1972) and appearing in seven Clint Eastwood films, including The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976). He passed away on December 1, 2011.
