Billy Carter
Billy Carter (March 29, 1937 – September 25, 1988) was an American farmer, businessman, brewer, and politician. He was the younger brother of U.S. President Jimmy Carter. Born in Plains, Georgia, Billy attended Emory University and served in the United States Marine Corps before joining the Carter family's peanut business. In 1970, he became the managing partner and 15% owner of the business, increasing its revenues to $5 million per year by 1976. Billy Carter gained national attention for promoting Billy Beer and Peanut Lolita. In 1972, he purchased a gas and service station in Plains, selling 2,000 cases of beer and over 40,000 gallons of gas at its peak. Carter also ran for mayor of Plains in 1976.
