Blair Tindall Biography
Blair Tindall (February 2, 1960 – April 12, 2023) was an American oboist, performer, producer, speaker, and journalist. Born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, she began playing the piano at a young age and later switched to the oboe. Tindall attended the North Carolina School of the Arts for high school and earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the Manhattan School of Music. She also pursued a master's degree in communication from Stanford University on a full tuition fellowship and attended Columbia University. Tindall spent 23 years as a professional musician before gaining recognition as the author of the 2005 memoir Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music, which was adapted into a television series.
