Bo Barrett Biography
Bo Barrett, born James P. Barrett, is a renowned winemaker and the current winemaker of Chateau Montelena. He is the son of Jim Barrett, who achieved international recognition when the 1973 Chardonnay from Chateau Montelena won first place in the white wine category at the 1976 Judgment of Paris wine tasting. Bo Barrett worked as an assistant during that vintage, mentored by Mike Grgich. He is married to Heidi Barrett, a former winemaker at Screaming Eagle Winery and Vineyards. Bo Barrett was portrayed by actor Chris Pine in the 2008 film Bottle Shock, which depicted the events of the Judgment of Paris wine tasting.
