Robert Leo Farrelly Jr., born on June 17, 1958, is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is widely recognized as one of the Farrelly brothers, working alongside his brother Peter. Known for their quirky and slightly offensive comedy style, the duo has directed and produced numerous successful films, including Dumb and Dumber, Shallow Hal, Me, Myself and Irene, There's Something About Mary, and the 2007 remake of The Heartbreak Kid. Farrelly grew up in Cumberland, Rhode Island, and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on a hockey scholarship. With a mix of Irish and Polish ancestry, the Farrelly brothers have made a significant mark on the comedy film industry.
