    Brad Newman, born as Charles Melvyn Thomas on December 6, 1938 in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England, was an English singer-songwriter and pianist. He gained recognition in 1962 when his song 'Somebody to Love' reached number 47 in the UK Singles Chart. Newman's musical career began as a pianist for the vocal trio called The Kingpins, after completing six years at the Leeds College of Music. He later joined them as a singer as well. The Kingpins achieved success with performances at venues such as the Newcastle Palace and the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow. Newman also appeared on TV shows like 'Six Five Special' and 'Drumbreat' alongside artists like Adam Faith, the John Barry Seven, Vince Eager, and Billy Fury. Brad Newman passed away in Spain on January 18, 1999.
