Brenda Lee, born Brenda Mae Tarpley on December 11, 1944, is an American singer known for her rockabilly, pop, and country music. With 47 chart hits in the 1960s, she is ranked fourth in that decade, surpassed only by Elvis Presley, the Beatles, and Ray Charles. Some of her notable songs include the 1960 hit 'I'm Sorry' and the 1958 Christmas classic 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree.' Standing at just 4 ft 9 inches tall, she earned the nickname 'Little Miss Dynamite' in 1957. Lee was one of the first pop music stars to have a major international following. In 1969, she had success with the recording 'Johnny One Time.'
