Brendan Taylor is a Zimbabwean former international cricketer and a former Zimbabwean captain. Born on 6 February 1986, Taylor played all formats of the game and was known for his right-handed batting and off-spin bowling skills. Throughout his career, he was praised as Zimbabwe's standout player for several years. Taylor was particularly known for his unorthodox shots, including his ability to play upper cuts and ramp shots with elegance. He represented Zimbabwe in four ICC T20 World Cup tournaments and three ICC ODI World Cups. Taylor captained Zimbabwe in ODIs until the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, taking over from Elton Chigumbura after the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
