Brian Cahill
Brian John Cahill MBE (16 February 1931 – 8 March 2015) was an Australian radio and television presenter, newsreader, and politician. He began his career in radio and then transitioned to television in 1959, where he worked until 1982. Cahill was elected to the Parliament of Queensland in 1983, serving as the member for Aspley, Brisbane until 1986. Following his political career, he returned to his first profession as a teacher and remained involved in musical theatre. In 1984, Cahill co-founded the Queensland Musical Theatre and served as its President. Born in Innisfail, he attended Cairns State High School and St Joseph's College, Nudgee. Cahill was known for his rich and resonant voice as an announcer at 4CA Cairns.
