Brian Keane

Brian Keane (born January 18, 1953) is an American composer, music producer, and guitarist. He grew up in Westport, Connecticut and began his career as a guitarist, touring and recording with notable artists such as Larry Coryell. Keane gained recognition as a composer, particularly in the documentary genre. His first music score for a documentary, Against Wind and Tide: A Cuban Odyssey, was nominated for an Academy Award in 1980. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Keane became a leading figure in documentary music scoring, earning the title 'the John Williams of the documentary' by The Hollywood Reporter. He has collaborated with major networks and renowned filmmakers, including Barry Levinson and Stephen King.
