Brian McBride

Brian Robert McBride (born June 19, 1972) is an American former soccer player. He played as a forward for Columbus Crew, Fulham, and Chicago Fire. McBride is the fifth-highest all-time leading goalscorer for the United States national team. He began his career playing in the United States but also had stints in Germany and England. McBride gained popularity and was named team captain during his time at Fulham, where he was voted "Player of the Season" twice. After leaving the club, a sports bar at Craven Cottage was renamed McBride's in his honor. McBride played varsity soccer at Buffalo Grove High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois, leading the team to win the Illinois state championship in 1988.
