Brian Osborne Biography
Brian Osborne (26 March 1940 – 8 July 2021) was an English actor best known for his roles in Upstairs, Downstairs and The Sandbaggers. He also appeared in several Carry On films, including Carry On Matron and Carry On Abroad, as well as the TV series Carry On Laughing. Born in 1940 in Bath, Somerset, Osborne began his acting career while still in school and later joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. He had roles in Bless This House and Follyfoot before landing the role of Pearce, the coachman, in Upstairs, Downstairs. Although his character had a minor role, Osborne's performance was memorable. He left the show after the second series in 1972.
