Brian Paul
Brian Paul is a computer programmer known for his work on the Mesa graphics library. He wrote and maintained the source code for Mesa until 2012 and continues to be active in the project. Paul began working on Mesa's source code in August 1993, creating a free software/open source graphics library that provides a generic OpenGL implementation for rendering three-dimensional graphics on multiple platforms. He obtained his bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh in 1990 and pursued a master's degree at the University of Wisconsin–Madison while working on the SSEC Visualization Project. Paul initially developed Mesa as a hobby project and released it on the Internet, garnering positive feedback and contributions from others.
