Brian Walters is a Melbourne barrister, writer, and advocate known for his work in human rights and environmental causes. Born on June 17, 1954, Walters grew up as the third of four sons. He received his education at Blackburn State School, Carey Baptist Grammar School, and Monash University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws. After completing his articles, Walters worked as a solicitor at Warren Graham & Murphy, a prominent law firm in Bairnsdale. During this time, he became involved in the founding of Wild, Australia's wilderness adventure magazine, and remained a contributing editor and director for 25 years. In 1982, Walters returned to Melbourne and joined the Victorian Bar as a counsel.
