Bruce Burrell

Bruce Allan Burrell (25 January 1953 – 4 August 2016) was an Australian convicted kidnapper and double murderer. In 2006, he was sentenced to life imprisonment plus 44 years for the 1995 murder of Dorothy Davis and the 1997 murder of Kerry Whelan. Burrell never revealed the location of his victims' bodies, and they have never been found. He died at the age of 63 while in prison custody in 2016 due to lung and liver cancer. Burrell's kidnapping and conviction became one of Australia's most infamous crimes. He was charged in 1999 after being a friend and former employee of the Whelan family, but charges were subsequently dropped.
