Bruce Cutler Biography
Bruce Cutler (born April 29, 1948) is an American criminal defense lawyer known for his work as a legal commentator and for his defense of John Gotti. Born in Flatbush, New York, Cutler was inspired by his father, a former New York City detective turned criminal defense attorney. After graduating from Poly Prep Country Day School, Cutler worked as a Brooklyn Assistant District Attorney before gaining notoriety in the 1980s for successfully defending John Gotti in three separate trials. However, when Gotti was indicted in 1990, Cutler and two associates were disqualified by presiding judge I. Leo Glasser. Cutler's expertise in criminal defense and his appearances as a legal commentator have solidified his reputation in the legal community.
