Sir Bruce Joseph Forsyth-Johnson (22 February 1928 – 18 August 2017) was an English entertainer and television presenter. He gained national attention through the ITV series Sunday Night at the London Palladium in the late 1950s. Forsyth hosted several popular game shows, such as The Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right, The Price Is Right, and You Bet!. From 2004 to 2013, he co-presented the hit show Strictly Come Dancing. In 2012, Forsyth was recognized by Guinness World Records for having the longest television career for a male entertainer. Born into a Salvation Army family, Forsyth's great-grandfather was a renowned landscape architect.
