Buck Taylor Biography
Buck Taylor (born Walter Clarence Taylor III, May 13, 1938) is an American actor and artist. He is best known for his role as gunsmith-turned-deputy Newly O'Brian in the CBS television series Gunsmoke. Taylor's acting career started with his role as Trooper Shattuck in the 1961 episode of Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theatre titled 'Image of a Drawn Sword'. He also appeared in other early roles, including a 1964 episode of The Outer Limits and as John Bradford in four episodes of the 1966 ABC television series 'The Monroes'. Born in Hollywood, California, Taylor graduated from North Hollywood High School and served in the United States Navy for two years.
