Caitlin Upton

Caitlin Upton, also known as Caite Upton, is an American fashion model and beauty pageant titleholder. Born on March 27, 1989, in Lexington, South Carolina, Upton gained recognition when she was crowned Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2007. She went on to represent South Carolina at the Miss Teen USA 2007 pageant, where she placed as the 3rd Runner-Up. Upton's fame escalated internationally due to her response to a question during the national pageant. When asked why a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map, she expressed her belief that it was due to some people's lack of access to maps and issues with education. Despite the viral moment, Upton continues to pursue a successful career in the modeling industry.
