Cal Pritner
Cal Pritner (1935 - December 1, 2014) was an educator, writer, administrator, and actor. He chaired the theatre departments at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (1994–2000) and Illinois State University (1970–1981). Pritner was also the founding artistic director of the Illinois Shakespeare Festival (1978–1990). He was an elected Fellow of the College of Fellows of the American Theatre. Pritner authored and co-authored several instructional television series on Shakespeare and poetry, including the award-winning 'Page to Stage: Julius Caesar' (1991). He co-authored 'How to Speak Shakespeare' (2001) and 'Introduction to Play Analysis' (2004), widely used as textbooks in colleges and universities. Pritner was a member of the American actors' unions, including Actors Equity and Screen Actors Guild.
