Candy Palmater
Candy Palmater (December 4, 1968 – December 25, 2021) was a Canadian actress, comedienne, and broadcaster. Born in Point La Nim, New Brunswick, she grew up as the youngest of seven children. Palmater attended Dalhousie Regional High School, where she participated in sports. She later pursued higher education at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, followed by completing a legal secretary's course at Maritime Business College. Motivated by the legal struggles of the Donald Marshall Jr. case, she enrolled in Dalhousie Law School and graduated as the valedictorian of her class in 1999. Palmater was known for creating and writing her own television show, 'The Candy Show,' which aired on APTN. She also hosted the interview series 'The Candy Palmater Show' on CBC Radio One in 2016.
