Carl Clemons-Hopkins

Carl Clemons-Hopkins is an American actor known for their role as Marcus in the HBO Max comedy-drama series Hacks. Born in Lithonia, Georgia, they attended high school in Snellville. Clemons-Hopkins has an extensive background in stage plays and was nominated for a Barrymore Award for Excellence in Theater in 2014. Notable performances include Little Shop of Horrors and Time Is On Our Side. They joined the original cast of Hamilton in Chicago in 2016. Inspired by the film Moonlight, Clemons-Hopkins transitioned to television and film. In 2021, they received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for their role in Hacks.
